Goloka Dham – the unchanging, ever-fresh abode of Bliss Posted on October 4, 2026October 4, 2026 By Muralidhar Das Srila Bhaktivinode Thakur wrote in Sri Krishna Samhita, Chapter Two, Verse 2: In Goloka, the pastimes of Krishna exist as an eternal spiritual reality. Devotees perceive Him through various relationships. Since conscious beings possess different natures according to place, time, and individual qualification, the eternal lila appears in diverse forms. The pastimes themselves never change, but differences appear according to the vision of those who contemplate them. The activities of the spiritual world are not directly perceived by conditioned souls in their complete form. At most, they are partially realized through samadhi. For souls contemplating Goloka who have not yet attained Goloka, realization generally occurs through a partial sight of the infinite and eternal reality of Goloka. For this reason, the places, times, and personalities of Braja-lila (described by Sri Guru and Shastra) serve as pointers toward higher truths. These indications perform two functions according to the qualification of the observer. For those possessing tender faith, they provide the substance that nurtures faith. Without visible indications, a soul’s spiritual progress would have no substantial starting point. For highly qualified devotees, these same indications that are experienced as revelations reveal a glimpse of the endless variety of the spiritual world. Every glimpse, or insight, is relishable and deeply cherished. When material conditioning is removed, the soul will directly behold the eternal lila in its ever-fresh form. Uncategorized
Uncategorized Vyaja-stuti: When Statements in Scripture Mean the Opposite of What the Words Say Posted on October 1, 2026October 1, 2026 In Bhakti-rasamrita-sindhu 3.1.44, Srila Rupa Goswami cites a verse of Bilvamangala Thakur in which Krishna is apparently spoken of in openly insulting words. Sri Jiva Goswami and Visvanatha Cakravarti both explicitly identify the statement as vyaja-stuti — praise expressed under the guise of criticism. The context is important.
